After a short pause, the fifth session from this year’s EUC online Seminar Series “Aim High, Degrow: Dialogues on Degrowth” is only a few weeks away! Session 5 is titled “Degrowth and the State” and will be held on Friday, May 31st, at noon EST. We’ll be discussing the role of the State in a degrowth future. We’ll be tackling questions such as: what is the balance that degrowth proposes between localism and other levels of governance, including national States and the international level?
We’re very excited to have our speakers, Milena Buchs (University of Leeds) and Max Koch (Lund University), and our moderator, Stefan Kipfer (Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, York University), join us. This webinar will be relevant to anyone interested in degrowth, governance, and welfare States. Everyone is welcome to attend—please share widely!
Our first session was an introduction to degrowth, our second session was on degrowth, feminism, and decolonization, our third session was on degrowth and urban planning, and our fourth session was degrowth and technology. They are publicly available on YouTube if you’d like to watch and/or share them.
