Responsibilities will include conducting, reporting and publishing independent research; developing collaborative projects with colleagues within the Institute and at other research organizations; and actively seeking external funding to support research activities. Depending on the level of the appointment and how this new research area evolves, the position may entail supervisory responsibilities and a contributory role in the organization of research activities at the Institute. A joint appointment with a Louisiana university is a possible added dimension.
