Welcome to the Water Footprint Network’s July newsletter. I’m pleased to let you know that the new, improved version 1.1 of our Water Footprint Assessment Tool is now live and available for everyone to use on www.waterfootprint.org/tool. This upgraded version is a major improvement over its predecessor and we hope it will further support your efforts to quantify your water footprint, assess its sustainability and devise the best plans to reduce your water footprint and make it more sustainable.
Since the first version of the tool was released in May 2013, it has garnered international support from major companies, policy makers, NGOs and scientists as a world-class tool in the drive toward sustainable, efficient and smart water use. During this time, we have listened to feedback from everyone who has used the tool and have worked hard to refine and update it with new features and more options. We are very pleased with the outcome; you will find it easier to use and will have greater flexibility over how you enter the data and can view the results. See the key new features below and read our Water Footprint Assessment Tool version 1.1 briefing paper for a full list of new functions, data and navigation improvements.
Given the severity of the world’s water problems, it is clear that we can only succeed in averting a crisis if we all step up efforts to improve water management as rapidly as possible. To support and accelerate your journey towards sustainable water use, we are dedicated to providing you with the most advanced tools and information available. We invite you to use our Water Footprint Assessment Tool, version 1.1 and would be delighted to further support you as you to take steps to apply the much needed, strategic solutions to today’s water problems.
