Call for Abstracts for the 2024 ANZSEE Conference/Island Festival

ANSZEE is delighted to call for abstracts for contributors of papers for the 2024 Biennial Conference/Island Festival: “Ecological Economic Perspectives from Islands and Across Oceans

ANZSEE 2024 Conference

The 2024 themes focus upon ecological economics analysis, perspectives and policies with the indicative topics as follows:

  • Sustainable and healthy national, regional and urban communities and ecosystems
  • Marine and coastal environments and people
  • Building adaptive capacity and resilience in uncertain times via ecological economic-informed solutions
  • Ecological limits and planetary boundaries
  • Ecological ethics and worldviews and intrinsic value/s of nature
  • First Nations and Indigenous communities/economies
  • Embedding ecological economics in education systems
  • Other topics consistent with the integrated multiple disciplinary perspectives of ecological economics.

Examples for each of the themes can be accessed through the conference themes webpage.

Please send (i) abstract/s (250-word limit) including (ii) a short title and up to four keywords for your presentation, and (ii) bios (150-word limit) and email them to anzseecom@gmail.com by Friday 31st May 2024. DEADLINE EXTENDED to 30 June 2024. 

We expect the selection process to be finalised by the end of June 2024.

Please note that the discounted early bird registration is now open till 30th June 2024.  You can register via the ticketing platform Humanitix to pay for the full conference fee, covering all of the conference sessions from 4th to the7th October, morning and afternoon tea and lunch for Saturday and Sunday, excluding accommodation cost.   A diverse range of affordable and budget accommodation options are available and ANZSEE will provide details in the near future.
